To become a small group leader
A cell leader is an individual who the church has entrusted to connect, support, engage, and encourage those within and outside a group. He/she is the key to pastoring a large church of people.
The prerequisites are flexible but will aid us in gauging the readiness of potential new leaders. The path a new leader will follow includes:
Step 1 – Knowing God
• believe
in Jesus Christ as God’s son and as your Savior
• attend
a Bridges venue for at least 4 months
Step 2 – Knowing the Church
• attend
the Bridges membership class
• sign
the Bridges membership covenant
Step 3 – Participating in Community
• attend
a Bridges cell group a minimum of one semester
Step 4 – Preparing to Lead
• attend and complete the Cell Leader Skills Course
(offered in October and February)
• act as
an apprentice to your current cell leader
•
complete staff interview, submit 3 recommendations, and
sign a covenant
Step 5 – Leading Community
• start a new
cell group
Potential leaders may enter the path at any point but it is
recommended that they follow this sequence in order to
maximize their learning curve.
