What God is doing at Bridges and what people are saying...
• I realize that I am not in control of my life and I may need to ask Jesus for help.
• God gives us the chance to do things right–again and again–when we fail.
• During this past week, God has proven to me that no matter what kind of challenges and difficulties I face, He’ll always offer me sufficient grace and strength to walk and live on every day.
• God has encouraged me in my faith by bringing me to Bridges where I gradually understand Him a little bit better every week. I thank Him for all the supportive people in this church.
• I am learning patience and to continue to put my life in God’s hands. I need to remember He already has a plan for me. God–I am listening.
• He has been revealing to me what I need to be doing to stay in His will and out of my own.
• Outside of church, I didn’t feel any different. However, every time I walk into church for worship, I get this intangible feeling of God’s presence that draws me closer to Him. Now outside of church I feel His presence all around me all the time.
• He has been strengthening my faith in Him through trials.
The Food Pantry desperately needs the following items: cereal, canned fruit, veggies, soups, spaghetti and sauce, beef stew, oatmeal. We are currently serving 5-10 families a week.
Our main lot is frequently full. Don’t forget that we have off-site parking at Hopkins Junior High (across the street) and at both realty offices on the corners of Driscoll and Mission. Please park along the wall in these lots. Parking off-site is a great opportunity to show love to newcomers and families with small children by allowing them to park closer to the church!
Experienced couples married 10 years or more can help younger, less experienced couples go from good to great marriages by encouraging and sharing your stories of married life. Training required. Pick up a FAQ sheet at the Marriage/Family Life table on the patio or contact Rudy or Carol Ramos.
Get together with other newly married couples (just married <5 years) for a potluck-style dinner, conversation, and the opportunity to meet others who are at the same stage of life.
This group will go through a series of lessons on DVD addressing different financial issues presented by Crown Financial Ministries.
If you have a big heart for children and could use an extra dose of fun in your Sunday mornings, our 2’s class needs you! No special skills needed, nothing scary. Just show up and play with the little ones: “Cook” up a little lunch, push someone on a swing, work a puzzle, read a story. Show up once a month. Help is needed both hours. Adults and youth are both welcome. Interested? Contact Jolene Thym.
We love our Summer Serve Volunteers! Thank you so much for serving so our regular volunteers could take summer vacations! We appreciate how much you cared for and loved on our children here at Bridges!
